Moreover, the EMJMD program – one of the Erasmus+ programs – provides EU, Non-EU, and selected International students the opportunities to complete a Master’s degree in Europe universities. It also provides students the opportunity to apply to a maximum of three different programs.
Level/Field of study
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree Scholarship is available to Master’s students. The scholarship covers degrees in over 50 fields of study offered by a Consortium of European Universities. Some of of the courses which include Agriculture and Veterinary, Engineering, Manufacture and Construction, and Health and Welfare.

The EMJMD scholarship covers your participation costs (including the tuition fees, library and laboratory costs, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to your participation in the Master). It also represents a contribution to your travel and installation costs and includes a monthly subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the study program.
The total amount of this Erasmus+ scholarship varies according to the duration of your course and your nationality (non-EU students receive larger scholarships).
However, a minimum of 75% of the scholarships is awarded to candidates from Partner countries.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree Scholarship Eligibility
The following are the eligibility criteria for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Scholarship Program 2020.
- Students at the Master’s level worldwide can apply
- You must have obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate a recognized equivalent level of learning, according to national legislation and practices, in the degree awarding countries.
- If you have already received an EMJMD or an Erasmus Mundus Master Course/Joint Doctorate scholarship, you are not eligible for an additional EMJMD scholarship. You also cannot benefit from another EU-funded scholarship scheme while you are receiving an EMJMD scholarship.
This Eramsmus+ scholarship master’s program is a study program of 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits. Thus, it lasts from a minimum of 12 months to a maximum of 24 months.
Also, the successful completion of the study program will lead to the award of either a joint degree or multiple degrees. A joint degree offers one single degree certificate issued on behalf of at least two higher education institutions of the EMJMD consortium. On the other hand, multiple degrees offers at least two-degree certificates issued by two higher education institutions of the consortium.
How to Apply for the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
To apply for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Scholarship, you’ll have to check out the online EMJMD Catalogue 2020-2021 and contact the consortium offering the Master Course for more information on courses and application procedures.
The application deadline for the EMJMD scholarship depends on the various consortium’s application period. Most consortia require applications to be submitted between October and January each year, for courses starting the following academic year.
